FAQs
How many children do you care for?
I usually try to keep my enrollments to 6-7 children. The total number depends on the age of the children. You can view current licensing capacities here: https://www.kdhe.ks.gov/DocumentCenter/View/41825/FCCH-Capacity-Visual-PDF
Do you participate in the food program?
Yes! In addition, I limit the number of processed foods offered, offer organic whenever possible, and I make as much as I can from scratch.
Do you potty train?
I support potty training efforts at home. When you feel your child is ready to begin potty training, I do my best to encourage them to use the potty here. Once we are able to go one week with no accidents, they can wear underwear to day care instead of pull ups.
Do we get vacation?
Some providers allow families to take vacation without charging tuition for the time the child is away, however most of these providers also include multiple weeks of paid time off in their contracts. I do things a little differently – I charge for the spot in my day care, not attendance. Aside from major national holidays like Christmas, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, etc. I do not take paid time off. If I do plan a vacation or have to close for any other reason, I DO prorate that week’s tuition and apply a credit. In other words, if I’m closed and it isn’t one of the paid holidays in my contract, I do not charge tuition for that day. If I AM open, I expect payment regardless of the children’s attendance.
What do we need in order to enroll?
After we interview and you’ve had a chance to read through my contract and ask any other questions you might have, I require the signed contract and an enrollment deposit of two weeks’ tuition. This deposit is non refundable and will later be applied to the final two weeks of our agreement. This allows me to hold a spot until your child is ready to begin attending, and makes it easier for you to transition to preschool when your child is ready.
How do we pay you?
I accept cash, check, Venmo or payments through Brightwheel. Tuition is due every Monday at drop off for the current week, however I do have some clients who choose to pay bi-weekly as opposed to weekly.
