Happy Mother’s Day 2021
My first year in child care a super sweet parent gave me a large print of the poem “Daycare Provider”. You know this one… it begins with “although I’m not their mother”. I keep it still because it’s a reminder of the expectation and standard that I aspire to. But the truth is… no child care provider, no matter how loving, can possibly compare to Mother. Sometimes especially as moms it’s so hard to drop your child off at daycare, and we struggle with our own expectations of motherhood, which is a little more complex these days with most households needing two incomes and many mothers raising and providing for their families on their own. You’re doing better than you think you are, and you are so important to and loved by your children! No matter the fun we have here, they are always most excited when Mommy comes back to take them home. Thanks for all you do, mommas, and thank you for trusting me to look after your littles.
