Isaac was born at 32 weeks, colicky, and deeply sensitive. He screamed day and night. You know those people that say their babies screamed 20/24 hours a day? I didn’t even know it was possible – but it was. This was Isaac.

And it was like this at first, when we’d drop him off with her. But she’d text a few minutes later to reassure us he had stopped crying. She was the only person outside of his parents he trusted to hold him.

She gave him love, structure, safety, and so much patience. She reassured us when we didn’t know what we were doing. Honestly.

Under her care, he learned to eat with others, play beside other kids, and slowly, grow into a social, peaceful little human. She helped him become himself.

Transitioning him out of her care was incredibly hard – but in my heart, I was grateful. Grateful that another family would get the chance to experience what we did. To be supported, to exhale, and to watch their baby thrive.
